2014 High Note: 4th Conversations & Cocktails Recap

Another holiday season is over and I’m a little pissed that I was sick through all of it. A nasty flu kicked my ass for two weeks and is just letting up now. Please know that I would have loved to do a recap of Conversations & Cocktails sooner but my body and spirit just wouldn’t allow it. Since ending my mat leave in October my schedule has been insane! And with my Gang Gang in daycare during flu season, I’m surprised I didn’t get sick sooner. But I was committed to ending 2014 on a high note. And what a high it was.

On November 23rd, I put on the 4th Conversations & Cocktails event and I am thrilled to say that it was my most successful to date. Two weeks later on December 7th, I celebrated with my hubby at the launch party of his first book A Name Just For You held at the beautiful Artscape Lounge inside the Daniel Spectrum building. But I’m jumping ahead. Let’s first chat about Conversations & Cocktails.

With this being the 4th Conversations & Cocktails I decided to shake things up a bit by changing the day and location. The usual Thursday night was switched to a Sunday evening.  I also changed the location to one of the hottest restaurants in The Junction, 3030 Dundas West.

Now this is how you chill on a Sunday night! Beautiful people engaging in an honest dialogue about relationships, over drinks & delicious food while playing the shit of some 80s retro games! We packed 3030 & showed them what Conversations & Cocktails is all about. Big thanks to my hubby for co-hosting with me and our sponsors Big It Up Hats, Fareal Custom Tees, A&C Games, Will.i.am Real Estate, & Danny Stone. And I can’t forget to thank Jonathan Shaw for the CHUNES, the awesome staff at 3030, and CJ Cromwell for the fantastic pics! And last but certainly not least, everyone who attended and made the night so special. Because I couldn’t have done this without your support. Stay tuned for the 5th Conversations & Cocktails next summer.

Last, but certainly not least, it was my pleasure to celebrate my Sean’s launch of his first book, A Name Just For You. Words can’t express how proud I am of him. Here’s the synopsis written by yours truly,

“What’s in a name? From multi-award winning motivational speaker, actor and entertainer Sean Mauricette comes this delightful book celebrating the joy of finding the perfect name for baby. Based on the author’s own journey as a first time father, follow Sean and his wife Nadine in their tireless quest to name their unborn son. Soulful, vibrant and colourful illustrations drawn by Quentin VerCetty, dance across the pages, breathing life into Sean’s heartfelt poem. A Name Just For You is interactive, allowing parents to incorporate their baby’s name in the story. A beautiful way to teach your little one the value of their name.”

It was my honour to witness Sean creating his book. And special big ups to Quentin VerCetty for creating the magnificent illustrations! BUY YOUR COPY NOW! Click here!

Enjoy the photos below of both events as well as a few extras. If you want to read more of my words, you can find me in the pages of HOLR Magazine, as their relationship expert. I’m also working on an exciting new project that I can’t wait to share with you. Now, I’m not big on new year resolutions but if you are, that’s fantastic. I believe in making each year better than the last. I hope 2015 is the year your dreams are realized! May you be happy, healthy and loved! 1 Love!

Getting ready to go live on Steps After Dark on G98.7FM to chat about relationships and Conversations & Cocktails. When you can’t find a babysitter, you do what you gotta do…late night styles. Minutes before going live on DJ Mel Boogie’s Droppin Dimes radio show to chat about Conversations & Cocktails.
